I met Larry when I joined the mountaineers in 1998 and I was drawn to a special friendship, joining the many friends he attracted. He helped me get a great job with his company back in 1999. When I needed a mentor for a glacier climb Larry jumped right up to the job and mentored me on Mt Olympus. That was a long but memorable trip. Time spent with Larry on climbs and snowshoes, like one of his unsuccessfull "Jim Hill" trips, will never be forgotten. As others have mentioned, Larry has climbed the ultimate mountain, and I can't help but to think that with his personality on earth, when our time comes to climb the ultimate mountain, he will meet us somewhere as close to the start as he can and he will climb with us to our ultimate summit. Larry was an amazing man in every area of his life. I will truely miss this wonderful friend and fellow mountaineer. God bless you Larry and I will see you again one day. In loving memory, Nancy LaMont
