From: Loving Friend
Date: 26 May 2006
Last week I asked Larry why he left us. I did not get an answer. Yesterday I asked Larry why he left us. Again, I did not get an answer.
People deal with situations in life differently. I have my own way. I can be happy which is what Larry would have wanted but I can also be saddened because I think of all the great times that were yet to be had. I will always remember the great times we did have.
But on the good side of life, I feel grateful that I spent more than my fare share of time with Larry. He gave me joy in his smile, happiness in his laugh and friendship in his presence.
I have traveled to the most serene places with Larry. Our boot prints have matched the paths we have taken. I cherish the countless moments with him on the mountains and peaks of our life. He is loved by many and always will be. Larry, laughs, friends, family and summits are all one in the same.
So life will continue on. There is no doubt that he is still climbing and I know he wants us all to do the same. So I can take comfort that from this day on, Larry will stand with me on every one of my summits and hike with me on the trails that will take me through my life.
So why did Larry leave us? I believe Larry wants us all to search for our own thoughts, our own meanings and our own joys. It is his way of making each of us special.
Larry is a very special person and yes he will be missed but he will always be with us and he will never be forgotten.
……Peace of Mind…….
I’m not sure where it begins but
I know where it always ends,
On top of a summit.
To most of us,
No matter where that summit is,
It is considered our second home.
We all feel a need to be in a place
That allows us to look down
Over everything below.
If we all have a comfort zone,
On top of a mountain would be that place.
Views are viewed differently.
Sounds are heard differently.
Feelings are felt differently.
Thoughts are thought differently.
And Memories are remembered.
We are few but as friends we are many.
Peace.
