More than once Larry referred to The Mountaineers as part of his extended family. I came to believe him as I observed his enthusiastic approach to being deeply involved in so many aspects of the club from executive levels to worker bee levels. He mentored me in getting more involved with the club in a variety of activities. Larry was like an older brother to me and many others in The Mountaineers with his encouragement and an accepting smile. Larry was good people, and he is deeply missed.
