AFM20 Olympic Rainforest Parkland
Great temperate rainforest valleys radiate from western slopes of the Olympic Mountains in Olympic National Park. Moisture-laden winds off the Pacific Ocean drench these forests with 120 to 140 inches (305–360 cm) of rain annually!
These forests are dominated by big leaf maple, Sitka spruce, western hemlock, Douglas fir and western red cedar. But elk browsing helps to keep the understory open in this natural woodland park.
I made this image in mid-January between rain squalls, with a Roosevelt elk bedded down in the grass about 100 yards off to the left.
This image is available for the following products: Metal Prints, Acrylic Wall Prints, Framed Prints and Giclee Fine Art Prints.
Price includes shipping to USA and Canada.
