ABE03 Lime Kiln Light

from $54.00

Lime Kiln Light stands watch over Haro Strait, separating Washington’s San Juan Island from Canada’s Vancouver Island, where the lights of Victoria can be seen in the distance. A full moon hides behind light cloud cover, yet still reflects off the peaceful water surface.

Built in 1919, Lime Kiln Light was the last major light established in Washington, and is now part of Lime Kiln Point State Park. The Park is one of the best places in the world to see whales from land, especially in summer when orca are hunting salmon runs.

I made this image on a late-December morning, well before sunrise (notice the Christmas wreaths on the tower and down by the door?). A 2 minute long exposure smooths out the water and clouds to portray the calm and quiet morning.

This image is available for the following products: Metal Prints, Acrylic Wall Prints, Framed Prints and Giclee Fine Art Prints.

Price includes shipping to USA and Canada.
