ADF2 Snowy Cascade Mountains
Washington’s Cascade Mountains receive 400 and 600 inches of snow each winter (Paradise meadow at Mount Rainer received 1,000 inches during the winter of 1955-1956!).
I made this image in mid-January while snowshoeing on a perfect cold powder day in the Central Cascades near Snoqualmie Pass. The surface of the snow is covered with delicate inch-long hoar frost crystals, which form when water vapor in the air comes into contact with a surface that is already below freezing.
This image is available for the following products: Metal Prints, Acrylic Wall Prints, Framed Prints and Giclee Fine Art Prints.
Price includes shipping to USA and Canada.
